25% higher officers per person than what, a national average? An average that includes rural areas, areas with less crime and less traffic issues than Alexandria?
Thanks for proving my point. Alexandria has no particular surplus of police. And it has many things they need to address.

I am sure the City will make such an arrest, when they have a policeman free to do so. Since they do not seem to have the resources to have a policeman regularly present at the arterial near my house, where people regularly speed, often make illegal right turns on red without stopping, and sometimes just run the red light I would suggest that may be some time.
Umm, Alexandria City has one of the highest number of police forces around. We are definitely not lacking in police people here.
Your source for this? Do you live in or near Alexandria?
There are many places in Alexandria where I would appreciate a greater police presence, both for traffic enforcement and other reasons. To me those are the priorities.
Yes, I do live here. This has been discussed at Council Meetings also.

I am not sure I follow what you wrote, but no the police will not make that kind of arrest according to their policies to date. ICE will have to come and do it. I live in Alexandria as well, and I agree the traffic enforcement and pedestrian safety are HUGE problems here (if that's what you mean). Get more involved in the local government, ask council members about the policy. And take your issues re traffic to the pedestrian advisory board (I am serious).
