It took me a hot second to realize my friend who named her kid Kennade meant Kennedy not Ken-ade, like a sports drink.

Reminds me of the This American Life episode where they talked about how a lot of people think "misled," is a word pronounced "mye-zelled." And the signs that say Children X-ing, or Deer X-ing are pronounced "zing."

In Psych classes, students often pronounced "onset" as "one -set." As in "sudden one -set of symptoms."

Get is hard, giraffe is soft.

The name I struggle with is Lynnea. Baby books say "Lynn Ay Uh" but the one I know is "Lynn A". I like both, but I wouldn't use it unless I was convinced I had the right pronunciation.
