We have been looking extensively and that is just not true. I know of two houses that sold in the $650-$700 range but they needed no less than $100-150 in work. You cannot get anything habitable there for under $750k. It's not "affordable". Heck Trinidad is not even affordable.

Because about two houses were unavailable for purchase in Dupont Circle, that explains why Vietnamese boat people can achieve academically and Americans can't?

I don't even think they start at 600K anymore in Shepherd Park. I've seen a couple listed for more than that that need a full gut. This one needs a ton of work and was recently listed for 875K.
