2. These criminals robbed him but left him with his expensive watch and $1500 shoes
3. A cocked gun was pointed at his head and he took the opportunity to cock off to the robber
4. Lochte decides not to stay in Rio, where he would have been treated like a king for a week and come home instead
Let's just say I am not buying it.

The Lochte defenders are just as humerous. He isn't interested in your old, married ass.

Truly the most unintentional insight into DC parenting I've ever seen on this board. That was a reasonable, probably assumption in that person's mind. Of course his mother was calling to make sure he was in bed in the village! What 32 year old's mother wouldn't?

If I had been robbed at gunpoint in a foreign city, I would be on the next plane out of there with a vow never to set foot in that country again. I agree that the whole story doesn't add up and is quite fishy, but him leaving Brazil is not one of the fishy parts, IMO. That could go either way.

(Maybe she wanted to make sure he was in bed and at the village) rules were I believe not to leave the village or something about not leaving in a cab. She calls, he doesn't answer.. She figures something is up and to get out of it he says oh we were out late because we got robbed! Etc... She worries tells the media and bam! Story gets leaked and Ryan has to cover his ass and act like it really happened.
They stayed on a cruise ship. They did not stay in the olympic village so this makes no sense. Not having phone on you is not a crime.
