This. Is. Not. The. Stuff that warrants FURRY! Take a deep breath. If this is the worst thing your child does all summer then I think a major reward he or she is due. Get a grip on reality. This is not a problem.

You are an asshole and I feel sorry for your kid. Enjoy having no relationship with your son because of all the disappointments be causes you.. Parenting: you are doing it wrong.

They only have a couple of field trips each year. Let it go and don't make him feel guilty. Whenever, I had a nice time at school with my friends (eating out at field trips, etc), my dad used to remind me how poor they were when he was child. I remember having a good time and then feeling very guilty about it.

When my son was around that age, I gave him $50 to spend at a day camp trip to an amusement park (thinking he would buy two expensive park meals, a few overpriced drinks, maybe play a couple of games). He bought a six-inch Subway sandwich and spent the rest of the money playing a basketball game trying to win an electric guitar. He already had an electric guitar. He came home hungry and thirsty, realized that it was dumb, and that he wasted his time and money. I was not surprised or angry. We laughed it off. The end.
