Yep - YA, but very good.

Just finished "Larose" by Louise Erdrich - completely engrossing, beautifully interesting, compassionate novel.

Anything by Erik Larson, he writes historical fiction and they are super engrossing.

Nonfiction, but I just finished "Troublemaker" by Leah Remini and it was really interesting about her childhood and growing up in Scientology. Crazy stuff.

A classic, but I always recommend "A Confederacy of Dunces" to anyone who hasn't read it.

I think you might like some of Geraldine Brooks's novels. March is her best known book, but I enjoyed Year of Wonders and Caleb's Crossing. They are lighter historical fiction with a good amount of action.

I know it's not recent, but The Thorn Birds might be a novel you'd enjoy. When it came out, I couldn't put it down!
