Our master bath in our home is quite large, and, has his and her toilets. Now that we are accustomed to that, it makes even most very lovely hotel rooms fall short and feel cramped.
It's such a shock to my system after many years living in cramped NYC apartments, where getting away and staying in high end hotels was such a highly-anticipated extravagance!
Of course we still enjoy the great service in many of the world's special hotels though!

I also thought of Shutters when I read this thread. I have traveled to destinations I liked a lot more than Santa Monica, but I loved that hotel.
