And wasn't leadership academy aimed at problem kids?
They won't be sharing space. Completely separate.

I share these concerns. That's precisely why I avoided the Educational Campus models. I don't feel comfortable with my PKer with older kids even if they are separated. Wonder how that layout will be to ensure that there is no crossover between the two schools.

Someone upthread said Lee has a 25 year lease, with a right to renew.
That seems quite different to me than Building Hope giving people a temporary space for a few years til they can buy their own.
Maybe it doesn't matter - and is a distinction without a difference.
Good points. Don't know anything about the specifics of the deal, a 25 year lease by Lee with guarantees by Building Hope may be it. Or a 25 year lease by Building Hope with a sublease by Lee.
Bit more information here. The developer may be giving the schools a good deal in order to garner support for the larger redevelopment plan.

It will be Building Hope.
Has Building Hope ever done a deal this way before? I know they've assisted and been important partners but not sure they have ever proposed owning a school building before.
Yes.

Yeah but this isn't incubator space.
That's how they are treating it, it's fundamentally the same- they own (or long term lease) the property because they have enough financial backing to take on the financial risk, and then lease it to the school at affordable rates based on their enrollment. At least that's how I assume it is being structured, maybe they came up with a different structure for this one- like Building Hope owning the property for 5 years and then the schools having a purchase option.

The new location certainly meets all the variables that leadership has been aiming for since the very beginning and promises a new and exciting future for the school! Congratulations Lee Families (and our soon-to-be-lotteried families!). The wait is over!
