OP, your kid is graduating soon, and you'll soon have more time than before. Now is your opportunity to figure out how you want to spend your time. Forget about what your DH wants, and even what your kid may want, what do YOU want? Go back to college, maybe become an art teacher, graphic designer, teach art classes? Consider seeing a career counselor, find what makes YOU happy, and do it! Good luck.

Wow, some people are mean. OP is obviously stressed about her situation and all some people can do is preach as to "what she should have done'. Well, it's too late for that. She's asking what to do now? OP, you could take on child care, babysitting, or nannying (all of those jobs pay more than $8 an hour which is what $16k equals.

Do try to get your degree. Others are right that a teaching job would pay more. Sales or telemarketing would pay more too. Most things would. Good luck! Sounds like a sad situation.

If you are in your mid-50's and have been married for 25 years, it sounds like you didn't get married until around 30. How were you supporting yourself before then?
