I still get compliments but they became less frequent around 36. I can't say if that was age or the wedding rings.

Now in my mid 40s, I get more compliments from women (beautiful skin, hair, smile) and appreciate those more.

I love the comment about.. non-white guys.. I stumbled on this site cause like all of you I'm insecure. I feel better knowing I'm not alone. But some of the reasons I've heard are so sad even I can't feel sorry for myself. Ladies you are not alone, or so fat, disfigured, that you should just give up. Having a baby gives your body character like a sexy scar on a man. Its no excuse to be a slob but it's not a flaw either

I think men don't notice me when I do not want to be noticed. They do notice me when I want to be noticed. I am one of those women who can transform completely by wearing makeup and applying cosmetics and doing my hair. Mostly, I do not make the effort. My DD is the same. I guess we are a household of lazy women. I wish we were not like that. I would love to be well groomed all the time, but, this laziness is our biggest downfall.

I'm 45 AA woman/mom and I still get noticed, especially by older men. I was at the Toys R Us and some guy came from 3 aisles over and told me I was beautiful. Made my day. This what confuses me about men. When I spend alot of time getting myself together (make-up/hair/clothes) and think I'm looking good, no one notices me or says a thing. Let me come out the house with just washed hair in a head band, no make-up, sweatpants and a slumpy t-shirt, sneakers....men notice me.

Many guys cast a wide net and have some success with a few stray cats. It's a numbers game.

38 and it hasn't stopped. I was talking to a guy at thr DMB concert and the guy managed to hunt me down a week later via Linked In to ask me out despite the fact I'm obviously married.

I haven't stopped trying in the sense that I take care of myself.
