We are lapsed Catholics and sent both of our kids to a reform Jewish preschool. It was a fantastic experience, and the focus was on doing good and being good. They could both tell an excellent Passover story and knew a few prayers. Both also desperately wanted a Bat Mitzvah. I loved the experience so much that I was ready to convert! We didn't, the kids are teens and they don't remember much of the jewish teachings but they do remember how much they loved their school and their friends.

My two sons attendant Jewish school from the age of two until 5yrs.
The preschool they attended was the neighborhood JCC It only went up to age for so my oldest son transferred to Klein Branch which was a major community center for many different things. He graduated kindergarten from there. The entire time my boys attending Jewish School I could not have been more happy with the love and care they received in JCC preschoolers. I never worry about safety and they were accepted with all the love as any student whether they were Jewish or gentile. I absolutely hate it the fact that they even had to leave those communities. They were required to participate in a cup of things such as every child was given a Shabbat day which their parent stood with them to light the candle and my son was thrilled when it was his turn.
My ex-husband and I were raised Catholic but we're not his family was extremely upset with me that I chose to send my sons to Jewish schools. Now that they are grown and I have grandchildren I am trying to find a way to help them manage to wish him send their daughters to the same school where my son's attended. My oldest son was reading by age four, my younger son how did illness which prevented him from even beginning preschool so he was three and a half and before he began kindergarten we had to move out of the city and I was on able to continue paying the tuition.
You celebrated Hanukah at our home
As well as Christmas. We participated in Purim and Passover. However we were not required to do any of that but since they were participated with it in school we wanted to bring home to them as well. You can never go wrong sending your child to any Jewish preschool.

Gan parent here. I'm Jewish so I had no issue sending my child to the Gan. Here is what I can tell you about the Gan in the per-COVID times. They will tell you that they welcome all but are unapologetically Jewish. They celebrate Shabbat every Friday. The food served is Kosher. (Basically it means that it is lacto-ovo vegetarian) They teach about the Jewish holidays in addition to teaching about all the things you would expect in a preschool. Many times the lessons are incorporated into the Jewish holiday. For example, the kids planted seeds and the seeds were parsley that would be ready to harvest in time to use on the Passover table. My son's class had 2 kids who didn't have at least one Jewish parent. All the kids participate in all the activities. They learn the Jewish prayers for Shabbat and other songs in Hebrew as well as in English.

They don't celebrate stuff like Halloween but they did do things for Thanksgiving. There is a winter break at the same time the public schools have. Spring break coincides with Passover. Depending on the year September/October has many extra days off because a bunch of Jewish holidays fall in these months. This year they fell on weekends so had the Gan opened up there would have only been one or two days they were closed for holidays.

The Gan did no open up this fall. I am hoping that they reopen in January. I love the place. It is ware and welcoming to all. My son loves it and from what I can tell the Jewish stuff is not very heavy handed but I might have a skewed perspective on that. My husband isn't Jewish and he is ok with what they were teaching our son.

Yes, I'm Jewish and I've known some nonjews who went to Jewish day schools where they were the only nonjew. 1/5 that I know converted as adults, the other 4 are nice successful p3ople but I always wondered why they didn't go to Catholic school.

Pre school you send your kid to the place that works. Day school is different. If I was Christian I would send my kid to a private school that celebrates the holidays I celebrate at home. I'm very friendly with them it just seems like a recipe for making life harder for your kids than it needs to be. Fortunately all the kids I know did very well in Jewish schools (one to the point of converting) but it just puzzled me as a parental decision.
