The entire charter movement was not founded and run by Republicans.

Many civil rights organizations serving low-income people and people of color support charters as an alternative to traditional public schools. Some progressive foundations support them.

Close to home, Mundo Verde was founded by liberals who wanted a multicultural, bilingual, green school. Does multicultural, Spanish-speaking, and green sound like a Republican conspiracy to you?

With charters as with everything else, it's not black and white.

OP, I don't see how politics have a place in parental involvement in school. Parents raise money, chaperone field trips, serve on committees that discuss budgets, volunteer in classrooms, and back a shit-ton of cupcakes.

I'm sure most of my fellow parents in a DCPS school are Democrats because of DC's demographics but it has honestly never come up in any school-related interaction.

And for the record, I don't insist global warming is false but may not agree with you on what is causing it. I don't want to blow up Obama Care but am open for a system which isn't government based, I don't think being gay is wrong nor am I against gay marriage (though I am against the government forcing business owners to make cakes for certain people), I don't believe everyone should be carrying around guns especially those who can't pass a background check, are criminals or don't have a license to own a firearm.

What do you think is causing global warming and where is the scientific evidence to support your view?

Me too. Send my kids to our in boundary dcps schools, live wotp. More independent than republican but husband is a true repub.
Had to set another mom straight once about his right to his opinions when she actually belittled him because of politics to me.
