Someone said ( I think Don) - "and there we were thinking we were safe" - because they left them as stand alone for so long without interference they thought they had some autonomy and could continue to exist that way. This way, they are literally being dissolved.

Her parents are narcissists. I'm not surprised at all.

This. And this is what makes her fantastic. If others disagree that's fine, but it doesn't make the opinion of others "wrong" just different. I think those who dislike her or ambivalent are sounding a little bit uptight.

Um, no. Sad is never making it at all. Never landing any film or tv roles and working hard at acting your whole life. I don't have sympathy for millionaires who hit it big like this but because they can't stay on top are sad. Go retire somewhere warm. Puh.

Sally has no respect for her parents, she is also a teen ager.
The way she speaks to them seems accurate to me.

Those of you who don't care for the way Sally speaks to her parents -- were you perhaps raised somewhere other then America? The way she speaks to them is sassy but rings true to me, albeit being a bit exaggerated (to be expected since this is a TV show).

Sally ended up being the best character in the entire series.

Sally is fantastic. Shame the other Draper children didn't manage to age remotely and just got recast over and over.

Really? I can't believe how many people think this. I mean she is direct and blunt but that doesn't make her fantastic. She is rarely seen and most of her story lines are super predictable.

Agree. She's a brat.

I do remember her mentioning a very brief failed first marriage.
