No time to read this whole thread, but I want to support the person you are responding to.
Your families aren't the ones who are getting married - whatever "harm" (embarrassment) they suffer because of a postponement is second to the harm you experience in a bad marriage. If the relationship isn't ultimately strong enough to withstand a postponement, then you shouldn't be getting married anyway.
Don't go through with it. It's much easier for everyone to undo a canceled wedding than to get a divorce.
