Are there departments other than art, literature, and angry studies at any of the aforementioned schools? Maybe something serious like engineering, pre-med/chemistry, or economics? Earlier in the thread I seem to recall the Williams grad unhappy with Duke - why? Because they have a great medical center and hospital? What does one do at Swarthmore or Bates or Pomona or Williams besides get angry and waste money? No amount of financial aid makes up for being useless.
yup, they all have econ depts, and all have science depts - you can go premed with a bio major at any of them.
Only big thing you cannot do is engineering. Except for Swarthmore, of course.
Note you do not have to have a med school on campus to be pre-med.
I take it you only have little kids and have not had much involvement with colleges?

I agree. Yes I've read all of both threads. How about we all shift to a new thread just titled Hardy. Enough of the misleading, at best, thread titles.
I am sorry, but I don't think the title of this post is misleading. 13% OOB students, "rising", but not outstanding DCCAS scores -when the elementary schools that are feeding Hardy have all the best DCCAS scores, 5 principals in just a few years,.. yes, something (maybe something not major, but something) is wrong with Hardy. I am considering moving to the neighborhood to attend Mann Elementary, but I am concern because of Hardy. It is a big deal for us, an important decision. I would like to understand if there is a problem of violence, for example, or of.... I would like to know as to take an informed decision.

It's perfectly valid to want this information. But to get it, please visit Hardy, talk to Principal Pride, and talk to current Hardy families. It's impossible to get accurate information from this site - it's just a bunch of anonymous rants, some in favor of Hardy, some against, some true, some false. It is impossible to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to Hardy on DCUM. Please visit the school!
Alternatively, the school could be more transparent. It could post IB numbers, DCCAS results broken by more subgroups, e.g., IB v OOB, data on graduates who get into honors classes at Wilson, etc.

Yup, that's why all those white northeastern liberal racists clamor to send their kids to Deal, a very integrated school. Look, Hardy has problems ,which is why Hardy's designated community (it's boundary area) largely avoid it. You can race bait all you want but Hardy can't improve significantly as long any criticism or concern is dismissed as motivated by racism

Now I figured out exactly why white northeast liberals are worse racists than white conservative southerners. White northeast liberals surgically segregate undesirable races out if their lives while southern conservatives integrate with the natural friction but at least they integrate .

So any concerns about Hardy are either racism or snobbery? If anyone who raises a concern about the school is so vilified and intimidated, no wonder it is taking so long for Hardy to change. At this pace it will take 60 years to catch up to Deal.
Nobody is villified or intimidated. But it does get frustrating for those of us with students at Hardy to constantly read false or incorrect statements about the school and its students (and in the case above, to be accused of villifying and intimidating Hardy critics).
