I've said this before - if it was a low invoke black family, you would advocate for the children to be taken away. So why not here? This is a HUGE lapse in judgement! If this were a critical event (which clearly it wasn't), either you take the kids with you and park them in a stroller and stay briefly or trade time with your spouse going in/out. NO ONE should leave their kids in a locked parked car on a cold night while the parebts go drink! Even in Europe, kids are brought in their strollers to the front of the restaurant, where they can be watched!
For the love of God, this was neglect at BESt and the tip of the iceberg if abuse, at best.
