What's a Brighton gift?

I give gift cards as gifts, and they're intended as a way to say "thank you" to teacher around the holidays. Not much thought goes into it and I would never expect a thank you card in return.

Teacher here. I just wrote thank-yous and put them in the kids' mailboxes today (along with a note to every child thanking them for the class gift). Please don't expect teachers to send out thank you notes ASAP. Getting prickly about such things is such a waste of time. DO get upset if your teacher is not teaching your child.

Sorry, I'm unable to entertain you now. Can you wait until I go back to DC from Austria?

Hey OP, I'm your kid's teacher. I sent you a thank you note but it's at your house in DC. I'm so sorry I didn't get your forwarding address in Austria so I could send the thank you note directly to you on your vacation. I am so, so sorry you have to wait until AFTER your holiday to receive my thank you. please forgive me.

I don't and I have given plenty of those!

Only to my favorite teachers - of course.

NP. I haven't read the entire thread, but I understand what OP is saying. As a first-time parent, I admit I was also disappointed not to receive a thank you from 5 of DD's 6 daycare teachers (she recently switched rooms). I didn't expect a written note, but I did expect a verbal thanks.

You are a ridiculous person OP. If you get so wound up over stuff like this, life can't be fun for you.
