I would tell her that is gets better, but before it will get better, it will get considerably worse and then you will know the depths of your strength. Hang in there. Enjoy the good moments when they come.

Hold hands with your spouse every chance you get.

Say "I love you" often.

Don't go to bed mad.

Neither of you sleeps on the couch or guest room.

Walk daily, together if you can.

Keep your wills current and in an accessible place.

Make sure your non-joint accounts have a Pay on Death (PoD) beneficiary. And the right one.

Keep beneficiaries on the ROTH and conventional IRAs current.

Enjoy the flowers.

Be happy with what you have.

This is one of my nightmares! Old, crumbling teeth, trying to communicate but my rotting teeth won;t allow it. Why would braces prevent that?


My bite was bad. Nothing more than that. I always took good care of them, but the overbite meant the bottoms were breaking.

This is one of my nightmares! Old, crumbling teeth, trying to communicate but my rotting teeth won;t allow it. Why would braces prevent that?

Good advice. You will not get another chance. I find myself dreaming about all the women I had sex with over my life, and definitely a few that came close, but I let slip away. Especially now that the DW has lost any interest. I have NEVER heard of a DH complaining that his DW wanted too much sex. Never!


It's because my H would be embarrassed to complain about that to his friends.

Revel in your kids--really see them and like them.

Smile at them and at yourself in the mirror.

Take time for sleep and for sex.

Find and tend a community so you have support when troubles come and so you can be rooted beyond your own little family.lives.

You may lose one or more parents and some friends in the next 15 years. It hurts. It's hard. It's all too short. Love.

Oh no! I would tell my 35 year old self to quit that meaningful and "important" job that doesn't pay a ton because that field will never make you enough money. Stay in that field and you'll wake up at age 52 with an overdue mortgage, a broken down car and no money this week until you get paid on the 21st. And your wife will resent you not earning more.

Sunblock. And remember that allowing yourself to gain weight is a bad idea: it's much easier to prevent weight gain than to reverse it. Also, take care of your feet. Exercise every day. Keep current in your profession even if you're a SAHM.
