This. I have friends who don't drink and they aren't uptight. It's not a big deal, they don't make it a big deal, we don't make it a big deal. I find that people who feel the need to tell you they don't drink and explain in detail why (and it often involves some version of "I don't need to drink to have a good time") are usually uptight. People who are like, "Eh, I don't drink, pass the salt, please," are usually not.

I like to drink after a long day at work, while entertaining, or out with friends. It relaxes me and I feel more comfortable socializing. However, I have noticed that after just one drink I tend to get a headache. As much as I love to drink, I have decided the cons out way the pros. My point is, some people my choose not to drink because of medical reasons.

Your post is such a sad commentary on many people's viewpoint about drinking. It can put pressure on those who don't need to be drinking.
Of all the posts here, mine is the sad commentary? I don't know how you gathered that my privately held opinion pressures anyone, but this is exactly what I meant. Drink or don't drink, I don't really care, but in my experience people who don't simply out of choice, and not due to a medical reason, tend to be uptight and perhaps a bit self important. Most people don't give a shit, but you insist that they do.

I don't care if people don't drink but I have never met a person who doesn't drink for reasons a or b that isn't a judge mental prude who thinks anyone who does drink is an alcoholic. They have generally been horrible people who are no fun.
