+1000 Free ain't worth it.
No way in hell would I do it. I'd either stay at a nearby hotel and treat everyone to dinner one night or graciously bow out.

That took me all of two seconds to figure out.
Yep.
I would NOT set that precedent, OP. I know IL's who try to pull this crap with preteen children and their parents. Perspective, anyone?![]()
I suggested this on pg. 2 as well. BTDT...heck we've all slept in the same hotel bed together. They know the difference between home and away, they also know when mommy says "NO".
Can you make it work on an air mattress that is slanted at a forty five degree angle? That is the example I am using here. A room too small to fit an air mattress (flat on the floor, picky me) is too small if they are trying to fit that number of people into it. It has nothing to do with being a prima donna. If you can sleep at such an angle, I commend you. I am not one of them. Nor is MIL or SIL who thought it was a wonderful idea. Funny, SIL had the biggest room, which could have easily slept ten people comfortably. Twenty people at a forty five degree angle.![]()
I have slept in a small bedroom with my husband and two kids MANY times. When they are little there is absolutely no need to cram air mattresses in between twin beds or any other such nonsense. Little kids can easily sleep with a parent or in a sleeping bag or in a pack n play. When they are older, they can sleep in sleeping bags on the living room floor or even out on the deck. It is all very doable if you are the least bit interested in trying to make it doable.
Of course, if you are dead set on seeing it all as a HUGE problem and inconvenience - your wish will be granted in spades.

Signed, bitter, deflecting, spoiled SIL who thinks everything is about her. Grow up.
