It's totally true !
Bob nice hairstylezz on straight hair, but even with straight hair bobs are hard to maintain I’d go with a straight across bob on the longer side grazing your shoulders . keep the layers long if any. Mine keeps growing out and i have to get shape ups often im trying to grow out the layers now and went for a trim and they layered it all up again.

Square-tip, acrylic or gel French manicures and (shudder) French pedicures

I am (unfortunately) prejudiced that long hair = beauty and Julie Andrews with long hair would be like Kristin Bell. Soooo pretty.

Well, I actually know many women over 40 with long hair, and they look great. My Iranian friend with long wavy hair is 42 and she looks fabulous. My Vietnamese friend who is 43 rocks straight med-long hair. It really depends on the person. I have long, wavy hair and I'm in my 40s. I can't have hair above my shoulders without looking like a mushroom. Wish I could but the texture of my hair just doesn't work that way. Every hair stylist that I've been to all say I look better with longer hair.

You deserve a medal.
Some people prefer their hair long. So? Maybe they look at you and think "No one over 40 looks good with short hair". And maybe you don't look as good as you think you do. Just because you can't wear long hair, does not mean the same is true for everyone. Grow up.

+1. I see tons of women in DC in their mid30-40 with long hair who don't realize how bad and unhealthy it is looking.
It's about what works for you, not your age. I'm 40 with long hair w/ layers. I have thick, course, Asian hair that needs the length to keep the volume down and prevent it from looking like a mushroom. My hair would be more high maintenance if I cut it short.

Yes - I have the wrong hair type for that cut, but it's forced into my head whether I pay big money or go to supercuts. There must be a video or something. It must sell a lot of product. They're hideous and I don't know a single woman who likes her hair right now. But we have no choice. It's what you get even if you say oh please no don't do that.
