We've been there for four months and I can't say enough great things about the teachers, the owner and new director (who is not so new anymore). They are so caring and SUCH hard workers. The infant leads are so sweet and my son LOVES his teacher. Agree that DT has a very different feel than other daycares - it feels more like a community and all the parents are so friendly and everyone says hello. I love parent night out, the monthly newsletters, and the events like the fall festival that the owner hosts for the families. The cameras are AMAZING. I can't ever go back to not having a camera. Our child in the last four months has learned to walk, self feed, take a sippy cup, learn sign language (all done, milk please, and no, thank you) all at DT. In the infant room, they also have a structure like the toddler room, story time, arts and crafts, buggy rides, music. The infant and toddler teachers just spent a weekend at an early childhood dev conference. They are all very caring, and hard workers. The owner and director are very open to suggestions and you can call at anytime if you see something. They definitely had a few bumps at the start especially with the old director, but I will say this, they corrected and admitted their mistakes right away, and that to me is a 180 difference from our previous daycare. And the last three months after they hired the new director, has been great for us.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm curious, if you feel comfortable sharing, what was your previous daycare? Was it in the Del Ray/Old Town area? You could not have been there that long if your child is still in the infant room (unless that was for an older child, I guess).
I don't wish to share on such a public forum which daycare we were in previously, but it was in Old Town. Also, the infant room goes up to 16 months or so (they work with you to determine when your child should move up)
Totally understand, and thanks for the info about the infant room.
