For further clarification, (if you read more carefully) you would notice that I said I would "love" to live in Chevy Chase and "fear" having to live in an alternate neighborhood. Not sure there is an easier way to say it besides the alternate neighborhoods were our plan B, while plan A is definitely CHEVY CHASE. Sounds like everyone has a chip on their shoulder and are certainly not giving a good first impression! Maybe not as welcoming of a community as I had hoped for!
I would not assume that all of the negative posts are from BS families. I pointed out that you said that there were no good houses on the market, but not in CC, DC as a whole. I have kids at BS and the community is really great. You would not be disappointed.

Wow "no good houses?" Sounds like someone has a bit of snobbery going on. There are plenty of "good" houses in Chevy Chase, DC, Barnaby Woods, streets off of Reno Road area, Forest Hills, for sale. Where do you live now?

No, not really. Why would you want to live across town and have to go through traffic to live away from the school when there are so many nice homes near the school? You'll be the only BS family living in Spring Valley, Kent, etc… whereas near the school are lots of nice families that attend the school and there is a nice community feeling.
