You're welcome! When my older DC started at BS, we lived in Spring Valley. We moved to Chevy Chase, DC about a year later because we really loved the community and the school. There are a few families from as far away as Silver Spring and Gaithersburg.

I would not assume that all of the negative posts are from BS families. I pointed out that you said that there were no good houses on the market, but not in CC, DC as a whole. I have kids at BS and the community is really great. You would not be disappointed.
Agree - BS is welcoming community and would not assume all negative posters are from BS. If you are in DC already you may be able to just wait in your current home until something opens up in CC? Just a thought.

The poster did not say that there were no good house in CC, DC. She said that there were no good houses currently on the market. I don't see any snobbery at all.

Well I would hope your plan b is not a neighborhood across town. It sounds like you think Spring Valley etc neighborhoods have a certain prestige or something and that is why you are stuck on living there. There are plenty of nice neighborhoods and many houses do come on the market in the Spring. Your children will have more friends that attend BS if you live in Forest hills, Northern Cleveland Park, Chevy Chase, and even parts of Bethesda. You should do what's best for your child and family if you are trying to become a part of a community.

No, not really. Why would you want to live across town and have to go through traffic to live away from the school when there are so many nice homes near the school? You'll be the only BS family living in Spring Valley, Kent, etc… whereas near the school are lots of nice families that attend the school and there is a nice community feeling.
Interesting, I know a BS family with 5 kids who live-in Spring ballet. Super involved. yes, you will be in the minority, but that is not news to you.
