Updates? Anyone? HRCS is so lame about getting the word out about closings. I have to let my underpaid, illegal nanny whose passport I have confiscated know whether I need her or not.

So true. You forgot all the other banned food items due to individual allergies: Anything containing eggs, wheat, corn... all grains, all nuts, fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy etc. HRCS kids survive on air!

I'm still trying to find out whether HRCS is cancelled TODAY. I can't reach our chauffeur so I don't know if he was able to drop the kid off or not. I could just call them but it's easier to post here: is HRCS open today? Where are my kids?

How does HRCS rank against MOCO and FCPS? I hope it has varsity synchronized swimming, sumo wrestling and ROTC.

You will have to wait like the rest of us. I'm sure they will send out an email 15 minutes before the start of school about closing if they decide to close.... Oh wait? you are a VIP, maybe for you they'll send out an email 20 minutes before school is suppose to start.

Does anyone know if HRCS has canceled school tomorrow for the ice storm? I suggested that they have chains for all the school buses (you know, the short yellow ones) at the last PTA meeting, but that PTA president bitch was advocating for dog sleds as a more environmentally responsible choice.

You have to enroll and pay your HSA fees, then your student can get a T-shirt. With a name like Larla, it's clear she is not a future HRCS student.

What can I do to get Central Office to force them to do this?

Speaking of, I was considering opening a charter school that is actually a boarding school. I was thinking of using the top floor of Roosevelt High School when construction is complete. Do you think there would be any problem with having dormitory space in a high school?

Snowflake? Snowflake?? Your snowflake caused DAYS OF SNOW DAYS. WE ***HATE*** SNOW DAYS!!!!! I don't care what language your snowflake learns, just keep them off the damn street in a city that shuts down when more than 3 snowflakes are out at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find it odd that you don't love your children. Why wouldn't you want to be with your 3 kids under 5 years of age for days upon end inside? Maybe next time you'll THINK before you bring kids into this world! Why have them if you don't want to spend a week-long snowstorm with them?

I have a great idea! Since you love kids so much and are so great with both young kids and snow days, why don't you post your address here on DCUM, and the next snow day, we will all drop our kids off at your house! We'll drop them off with snacks and lunch, all you have to do is have an even BETTER snow day or snow week with hundreds of kids in your home and tons of snow outside!!!

That's both win-win and love-love! Please post your address now, so we can have it ready...

Did anyone answer the other PP's question, is HRCS open tomorrow? We may need this address in the next hour to start planning for tomorrow....

It should be closed. We just moved here from Hawaii and we do not own anything warmer than capri pants and flip flops. It is ridiculous that schools operate in this weather.

Don't you mean "Ivies"?!? I can tell by your poor use of grammar and lack of editing/typing skills that yours kid won't.

The Ivies drool over our graduates.... How many public school graduates are polylingual in English/English/Mandarin/French/Spanish/Navajo/Elvish/Klingon and can do differential calculus in 5th grade in all those languages.

President Obama wishes HRCS had a POTUS preference.

Holy crap, can you imagine how many holidays this HRCS must have off? Klingons alone have a 45 day school year that just repeats, so every holiday is like 4 times in our regular school year. And those French like to par-tay, so Bastille Day and what else? Let's not even talk about Elvish holidays... short people can't do as much in a day so they usually do 2 days for each holiday.

Does HRCS have only, like, 20 actual school days per year? Common Core and IB must be a little tricky there....
