I don't know. I went out with Asian guys, white guys, white closeted guys (well, just one), black guys, Latino guys, religious guys, bisexual guys, educated guys, no-college-degree guys. I know tons of white chicks who dig Asian guys, so I don't understand your question. A PP asked that very question. No one's losing. But Asian does seem to be the flava-of-the-month. Which is amusing to me, because when I was growing up Asian women were *not* very popular as dates.

Let's see, many European ancestors of whites had their own language, but most didn't learn German, Polish, Gaelic, Dutch, Swedish from their parents and continue to pass it down. Must be some truth to that self hate theory.



The recent European immigrants who speak their language try to teach it to their kids.
I really think that racism has scared non-black minorities into a corner. They are so afraid that they will be victimized that they shed EVERYTHING. They also run as fast as possible away from other minorities including blacks. Racism has had collateral damage, Asians (and many black people) have not been enobled by the experience, rather they have submitted. Not all of course, I know many Asians who have made every efffort to preserve culture and marry each other with pride.

I remember this being posted around the same time as some idiot posted the insecure post about Asians/Indian women knocking out white, blond as the "new" trophy wife. I pretty sure OP, posted this to dispel the "trophy wife" nonsense and to point out as you've stated, this is not a rare/inscrutable/taboo pairing.

And I learned some things from this thread and I'm sure others did too. Many posts on this off-topic forum are easily answerable with a google search, many thoughts and questions her are inane or just plain stupid, but it's the off-topic board and you don't have to click on every single post.




If you would read my post carefully, at no point did I say or even suggest that the OP should not have started this AMA. I am well aware that this is an internet forum and everyone has the right to post whatever they want, regardless of how pointless or redundant it is.

You're right that I could ask this question in any AMA, but I don't care about the motivations of other AMA posters; I'm curious about this one. That's why I asked the question here and that's why I bring up the lack of similar AMA's for other interracial couples. She said "ask me anything," so that's what I'm doing.

No idea what the motivation of OP was in starting the thread but let me say based on interaction with many Asians, there is a pecking order when it comes to marrying someone of another race/color.

Being married to a white guy is viewed as the next best thing to marrying within one's own race .... and depending on the looks, credentials, etc of the white guy, it may even be viewed as a "catch" of sorts by some in the Asian community.

Yes, and there is also a tendency, to want to adapt to some Western aspects. For example, most Asians in the US use a Western first name and rarely use their Asian first name.
