Eh, you might be right that DC guys are shorter than NYC. I doubt it's an average of 5'7, but NYC has those finance guys who played football or lax in college that DC doesn't. NYC also has many Italians and Jews that lower the heights somewhat. Maybe I should get to DC a lot more...

I'm sure that info is available re white professionals, etc. Maybe some census fiddling.

Come to think of it, when I've been in DC I seemed to get a lot more female attention than in NYC.

so what are you saying - that it is very important that interests match?

i believe that young people tend to overestimate the importance (and longevity) of their interests. this is because they don't have families and things like music, books, movies etc are a very importnat part of their lives and identities. however, as family life starts to unfold, those things tend to lose their importance rapidly.

i hear this stuff often, yet i'm a black woman who gets asked out pretty often. i feel like if i can have pretty decent options in DC, other women should too. i hear reports that black professional men are an endangered species, yet i'm constantly seeing them everywhere i go. most guys i've dated, regardless of race, have had IT/engineering backgrounds, if that helps.

op, assuming you're a white woman looking for white men, i'd say your best bet is to hang in the tyson's and dulles corridor. the ratio of single professional men to women is certainly in your favor. i usually find that the black men looking for black women in these areas FLOCK to black professionals events. keep in mind that our numbers are pretty low in those areas. if i can find em, so can you!

And lets not forget of those 100 men, many more of them than in other jurisdictions are gay - as DC has one of the highest rates of male homosexuality in the country on a per capita basis.
