I'm... I would say definitely no. Maybe if it's a kindly old lady but for the most part- yeah that's highly, highly inappropriate.

I taught for years. Never. Hugs, yes. Kisses, no. And, I remember years ago when one of the teachers said we would get to a time when hugs would be inappropriate. I think we are getting there now.

…because too many of these young female teachers start with a hug & next thing you know their 13-year-old students are sliding into third base.

When I was a student teacher 15 years ago, the first grade female teacher kissed a girl student out of pure love I think on the head or forehead. I thought it was odd as a new teacher but I really felt at the time it was just sort of out of love. Nowadays I don’t think any teacher should lay a finger on a student and definitely no kissing!!
