Please don't. It is a perfectly wonderful name, but it has become very common. My nephew is named Ishaan and 3 other students are names that in his class. I love it.

I also like Ram. (Rahm? Rom? Not sure of the best spelling). Rama is nice too but giving an American-born boy a name ending in “a” gets tricky.

I also love Tejas but maybe too similar to Texas. Haha

We have a gazillion Indian kids in the high school where i teach. None of their names are shortened or nicknamed. Whatever you name him, that is what he be called.

Please keep the names coming! DS #2 is on the way and we are leaning toward Dev, but would love more suggestions. Definitely want a relatively easy to pronounce name (I am Indian and DH is not, so he will have a non-Indian last name).
