One thing that helped is that we live in a neighborhood with young families who we've become friends with and that's been wonderful. On a beautiful day I like to walk and I often do it pushing a stroller with one or two kids. The moms are so happy to have a break and I love the company.
So funny, my 68 year old DH is often seen pushing a neighbors baby stroller. He goes into town, stops for coffee and loves it. Everyone smiles and waves at him which they'd never do if he was just walking on his own. We have a bunch of grandchildren but they don't live near us so this is really good for him.
