None of your damn business what people do with THEIR money.
So in a society where some people were purchasing million dollar pairs of pants and other people were starving, it would be "nobody's business?" I don't agree.
Not your money...not your business. They earn their money and whether or not you like or think what they do with it is moral thats life. Deal.

I'm not a Oprah fan, but I have respect for her because she DIDN'T pull the "don't you know who I am" schtick.
No she just called the poor woman out in front of everyone in the world.
Much respect for that.
Oprah didn't mention the store. Once she mentioned the situation in the interview other people (who apparently had way too much time on their hands) did some research and outed the store. Granted- I'm sure she knew that would happen, but it's different than O saying, "Susie, who works in the bag store, is a racist."
I've done work with press - this was an "on the record interview" - Oprah may be a lot of things, but she isn't stupid.
She knew that they would find the store and the salesclerk. Please.

I think spending $5000 on a diamond bracelet is a ridiculous waste of money but then....it's not my money.

There MAY have been some miscommunication but I don't doubt for one second that the clerk thought "this poor Black woman can't afford that bag so I'll save her some time."
