I've. Seen. It. All.

Wow.

More than once. And didn't address pp's suggestion that she troll for sympathy amongst her to-be-furloughed colleagues.

OP, you need to take a hard look in the mirror. Seriously. I know you'll ignore this, as you have the dozen-plus posts saying the same thing, but you are incredibly unattractive.

Please quote where OP complains about being sequestered. You may disagree with

my approach, but what you claim never happened.

I can't believe it's 2013 and people are complaining about how gauche it is to share salary info. I bet they'd be first to complain if they found out they were earning less than their peers.

Wow, that's a A LOT! Maybe an accounting mistake??? I mean even you say it's many many K higher than usual.

BTW --- great thread bragging about all this money when there is a furlough starting!

I don't believe in jinxing at all for anything- so no worries there. I have no idea the lag time when the money we are seeing today was actually earned, but your post is helpful that there likely is no "trend" and we are dealing with an exception rather than the rule. I guess we can check back in June. Also other helpful posters- the one who said earnings were up 30% and the one who said many firms are in dire financial straights- despite the fact they are in opposition.

Totally fine if its last years earnings and we are seeing it now. I hope it keeps up. Not sure the firm has any chance of going under- but people brought up howery. So who knows. Thanks to the posters who contributed relevant salient info! And weird that "killing it" is an 80s term. I'm pretty sure I picked it up from teens, Tweens, and athletes of late. Now that is embarrassing. Although big law wife thought killing only referred to hours being worked. I'm so confused!

The kids are definitely using it the way you did. BigLaw Wife is the one out of touch.

Sure, totally great if last year's earnings, but that doesn't mean that your DH (I assume, though I am a partner DW) will see anything from all the hours he is working this month, or next month, etc. Every year is different. So if you are rejoicing in February 2013 about some billings that took place in March 2012... good for you... but it predicts NOTHING about what is going to happen in March 2013, or July 2013, or December 2013. Maybe the big draw will continue, perhaps your DH will get furloughed. If you believe in jinxing things, I would not be posting about "killing it" in draws... Just MHO.

The cheerleader rah rah killed it part. I haven't heard anyone talk like that since the 80s.
