What kind of healthy takeouts does Vienna have that McLean doesn't? KFC? Popeyes? Vienna Inn? Outback? Foster's Grille? Anita's?

The main place that comes to my mind is Cenan's Bakery. Great place.

Not necessarily healthy, depending on what you order, but I would love to move Plaka Grill to McLean and leave Vienna with Skorpios and the Greek Grill.

I found Cenans bakery to be overrated. Nothing special about the sandwiches. I suppose the novelty is the in house baked bread, but Subway has in house baked bread also.

Not true! My husband works in Tysons and we looked at both Mclean and Vienna and our budget was 1.2-1.5 million, so decent options in both places. We chose Vienna for the community, the closer proximity to the now finished Target and MOM's, the trail, the walkability, the more "down to earth"ness about it.. pretty much we preferred the Vienna lifestyle.

Yes, really down to earth living in a $1.5 mil house.

Yes down to earth. We moved here from a lower COL area where colonials that are relatively updated are pretty much the standard. We bought what we are accustomed too, nothing crazy fancy like a 3 car garage, pool, sauna on a private gated drive (which is what you would get and more where we are from), just a newer colonial with updated living. And I fully realize that we are very fortunate to be able to live like this here.

That said, my kids go to public school, we don't have a nanny nor a housekeeper, don't drive fancy cars, don't buy our kids any fancy electronics, own one TV, one 5 yr old laptop and have an one original IPad 1 not 5 or 4 or whatever the newest one is. So yes I would say we are pretty down to earth even though we don't live in a rambler. Judgemental much? Must be from Mclean.

Not judgmental. Just called you out on being delusional.

I'd like to see the seedy Wolf Trap Hotel on Maple torn down. I keep waiting to hear whether any of those involved in the recent homicide near Madison HS had been staying there.

i think that is one of the sites that will be demolished for mixed use. that and the mexican place near pickett and maple.

Really? I hope not. We do most of our shopping there. Especially for fruits and vegetables.

The Greek Grill closed?

I love Skorpios and Tara Thai for take-out.

Not a rumor: Elevation is almost ready to open near the Fresh Market.
Great takeout in Vienna: Whole Foods, Amma, Cenans, Italian Gourmet, SweetLeaf, Sweet Ginger, Nata. Man, I am hungry.

While not a takeout place, don't forget that Vienna has the Pie Gourmet which is amazing and my go to place for ordering when I have to bring someone a meal. Their meal pies and quiches are unbelievably good (and easy to heat up)!

Also, Church St. Pizza! I'm from NY and while no place beats an authentic Brooklyn slice, Church St Pizza is the best pizza place in NoVa!

Noodles and Co makes a decent take out meal too.

Why? Because this is a VA Public Schools forum and not the Real Estate forum?
