Read the thread. McMansion has two meanings.

Man, these are just large houses on fairly large lots.

A McMansion means the house is new, squished on 90% of its lot, and is likely surrounded by all the same or all tiny homes on similarly sized lots.

16:28 looks like someone is going to step out that top window between the columns and fall to the ground.

They periodically stage fake "estate sales" out of houses like these where you can buy some marked down Persian rugs and objet d'art.
This particular house looms on a hill precipitously across the street from a giant church, and as is typical has zero trees on the lot.

My parents have what one might call a mansion....on a 1.5 acre lot, 1 acre of which is wooded. I think if your lot is denuded and you encroach your neighbor on every side that you are in the McMansion category by default.

I don't know how to post a photo to this, but it's next to some lovely restrained 1920s brick colonials.
