They periodically stage fake "estate sales" out of houses like these where you can buy some marked down Persian rugs and objet d'art.
This particular house looms on a hill precipitously across the street from a giant church, and as is typical has zero trees on the lot.
My parents have what one might call a mansion....on a 1.5 acre lot, 1 acre of which is wooded. I think if your lot is denuded and you encroach your neighbor on every side that you are in the McMansion category by default.
