I don't think Lou M's or Portillo's would franchise out but I sure was wrong w/Aurelio's Pizza when we went to the one in Naples, FL! good luck with your proposal & business plan

Dude, I never claimed Wawa was a culinary treat. But when we are on a roadtrip and my kids want snacks and I want a clean bathroom, Wawa rocks. Or when we are at the beach in Bethany and want to grab tasty, non-greasy fast food, they do it just a little bit better....at Wawa! (and if you recognize that jingle from your childhood, you know what I mean!)

There is one in Manassas, but that is too far out and it definitely doesn't fit in well there (near a "Christian" store).

Bad Ass in Manassas has been closed for several years now.

Bummer - I always did wonder how they were going to stay in business out there. Hope the ones in Park City and Hawaii are still around!!

OP Here - Awesome ideas! Thanks! I'm also interested in any non-food franchises as well so thanks for any names in that category!

Unfortunately In and Out burger is family owned and they don't franchise - bummer!

The Exercise Coach -- it's a small chain of gyms in Chicagoland. Kind of like crossfit but not as cultish.

Jersey Mike's in Bowie.
Wegmans is opening a new store in Crofton too at the end of the month.
All not within the beltway, but worth a drive?

Ha. I don't drive to Laurel, Bowie or Crofton for groceries (or anything) from DC because that would be an insane waste of time and gas. I would go to Bethesda or McLean for it though. I have a lady boner for Wegman's for sure.

And god please, an In n Out burger. Im pregnant now and would kill for a double double animal style with fries.

I can make you a country ham biscuit with my recipe that I make every weekend from scratch starter that I keep on my kitchen counter and some slices of quick fried Smithfield Ham ™ from my iron skillet. BOOM.
