The Obama people were whining about the ACORN tape being edited, so let's see them take responsibility for jumping down the Romney campaign's collective throat by going on and on about THIS edited tape.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Crickets.

It's simply not possible that the person the Repubs put up for President is this stupid. Plus the pick of Ryan alienates that critical percent of undecided people, people who voted for BO last time. I am telling you this campaign is a sham. They are putting on a show for the base even as they throw this election.
Finally, someone on this thread who get the real issue here. This leak was clearly an inside job - someone in the inner circle wants to see this man go down. Question is why???? I would not be shocked if the next thing to leak are the tax returns.
Yes! I'm very curious about this! A 50K a plate dinner at a private home. They wanted to keep the location secret to protect the person that leaked it.
Who would be included at such an event and want to expose Romney?
caterers? waiters? There was certainly a staff waiting on all of those people, any of whom could have recorded this with a smartphone.

If you listen in context, he was clearly expressing sympathy for the plight of the people he was discussing, and explaining why he was still working for their votes despite their apparent antipathy. Just the opposite of Romney, who does not worry about the 47% whose votes he cedes to Obama.
BTW, it was Jon Chait, via TPM's Josh Marshall, that pointed this out (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2012/09/just_right_1.php?ref=fpblg). The "clinging" quote was more akin to "You didn't build that." than to "47%".
Anonymous wrote:It funny how a person who wants to be President thinks American citizens don't have a right to food. I guess that 47% should just eat cake.
Anonymous wrote:Ha! I'm doing something wrong. I support Obama, fall into Mitt's definition of middle class, and (unlike Mitt) pay 25% federal taxes.

Yes. Democracy is weakened in a society where there is a big disparity between the wealthy and the poor and a middle class that is slipping downward.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I used to live in the South. The republic voters I knew lived in trailers, had the lowest paying jobs on campus, could hardly scrape by without family assistance. I always wondered why they would vote against their own interests.
To be fair, you could say the same thing about my family, with our mid six-figure HHI, voting for Obama. I prefer to beliebe the majority of the low-income Republican voters aren't evil, or even stupid - they honestly believe they are doing what is best for the country, just like I am, even if is isn;t exactly in their own interests.
I am well off and vote for Obama, but I would not say I am doing it for my country. It is self interest. My sense of well being is affected when people are lacking food and health care, and my bottom line will be affected when the gap grows wider.
So you think that the elderly who survive on Social Security and Medicare after having worked their whole lives are just too lazy or stupid to fend for themselves? After all, that's one of the groups Romney was referring to in his famous 47% statement. Yeah, we should just put the elderly on an ice floe. Losers.Anonymous wrote:Everyone knows this is true he just stayed stated the obvious. I don't know why people are shocked. Obama voters, are subsidized on welfare , or work government jobs or government related, etc...
They are either too lazy or stupid to fend for themselves.
Granted a very small amount maybe disabled but the system would take care of them. We don't need to create policies that stifle prosperity to make the exception the rule.

The full video - which is slated to be released later today - shows a donor asking Romney how he will court the Hispanic vote in this election when polls show that Obama has a 2 to 1 margin amonst those voters.
Romney responded by saying that it was futile to even try to get Hispanics to vote Republican because their "primitive culture" was antithetical to Republican values.
"Hispanics will never vote for me because they can't possibly udnerstand my ideas. They are descended from a primative cutlure. They were sacrificing 9 year olds to the gods before Cortés came."
"And these people. The ones that come to the U.S.. ...these people are losers. They couldn’t cut it in their own countries, and now they want to freeload in ours. When I’m president I’ll send Mexico a message - take 'em back. We don’t want these taco jockeys anymore."
