The restored Rosedale farmhouse was listed for $5 million and recently sold. Other "old, cruddy" houses around the periphery of Rosedale are pretty expensive, with many being $2 million or so and up. Same is true of much of the Cleveland Park historic district. "Some pig." Some crud.

There was no new "owner" of the lot. The Palazzo purchasers had an out before closing based on receiving historic review approval of their plans. They wisely decided to walk, so it's not like they were severely disadvantaged by the restrictions.

The prospective purchasers of the lot decided to walk when it became clear to them that their plans for "Palazzo Grosso" would not be approved by the Historic Preservation Review Board. The restrictions on the Rosedale site are very clear that the historic farmhouse has to be the predominant structure visible from the property. The lot is still on the market and a house will be built there eventually -- just not one of Trump-like design and scale.

Low class people who have made some money and now expect the more refined people to be their 'friends' despite their low class ways. Only reason why noveau rich wanna hang out with the nobility is because they expect to get something out of it, and because their own people are not good enough for them anymore
