Maybe that is all he needed to reach this point.
I have read some comments that take the blame off his parents and that is reasonable but, didn't they talk to him on a regular basis? visited them? when was the last time his parents see him? I am a mother and it really blows my mind that a parent can't have a meaningful conversation with her kid. If the conversation doesn't flow as usual it would be a red flag. now, i am not blaming his parents, it is just an observation.

What about if he was actually not planning to shoot at the movies but at his school? can this be possible? He was planning this for a while, what part in the movie did he decide to go and get the arms (he certainly had to dress pretty quickly). I think that when a mentally ill person is isolated it contributes to his/hers delusions. the longer the isolation the worst.

If you will read, you will see that I said that I don't care if he is mentally ill. Crazy or not, kill him already. His sort of violent behavior contributes nothing to society. That POS killed 12 people, including a 6 y/o. I don't give a shit what his problem is, if he even has one.

People who have a psychotic break are usually not able to function on that high of a level anymore once that happens. The planning, organization, the elaborate rigging of his apartment, but especially the keeping if the facade that he did. I read an interview with a guy who had drinks with this mass murderer ("troubled young man" is the wrong phrase in the light of what this killer did IMO) just a few days prior, and found nothing odd. They talked about football. Someone with a fresh psychotic break dies not know he has one and will say and do odd things. It would be impossible not to notice in a longer conversation/interaction.
He *could* be playing this, pretending. He was supposedly very smart -and his field of study was mental disease. It is raising a lot of questions.

In the court appearance he just looks ... Drugged more than anything.

And no one said this was about Columbine. Someone asked about whether or not people had pity for them or thought them insane. It was another similar mass killing situation. That's all. Not trying to skew or derail this discussion.

I think Columbine was a rage mixed in with misfits, ostracized, self-centered, attention seeking, teenage drama perfect storm.
