Oh one last comment. New money if you mean having millions for over 30 years. So I guess it's 'new' money. He made his own money. He didn't rely on family money to get him anywhere.

Casa de Amor is gaudy. Their kids joke with them all of the time about it. But that's how the owners are naturally. They like those things. They are very cool, smart, fun and humble people. I know because I'm one of the best friend's of the owner's daughter. Don't judge until you know the people go actually live in these houses. By the way, the owners of Casa de Amor own commercial real estate properties. Not just gasoline stations. They are ridiculously generous too. My parents who are super conservative love them. Get to know people before you judge them on what they spend their money on in their house.

I have also met new money in Georgetown: faux hipster husbands, bottle blond trophy wives, and kids with aspirational old money surnames as first names. (real old money families name their kids Elizabeth and Alexander).

One such person has been living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for the last few years. I, for one, am quite happy to have this "new money" person in my town.

Everywhere. People with new money are still people, who have different tastes and having money allows them to live wherever they want. I am new money and live in a victorian in Dupont worth north of 2 mil. You would not pay me to live in the burbs.
