I'm six weeks pregnant and haven't spoken with my nurse or doctor since starting the estrogen patches before the frozen transfer.

It's true that they don't have time for difficult questions in my experience. I didn't even ask difficult questions until after multiple failures. I ended up going out of the area and had success on the first try at a clinic that was willing to make changes and not be so cookie cutter.

I think you're lying. I can't see a doctor at SG or anywhere else brushing off simple questions with "Trust me" I've been in 4 different clinics in the past 2 years, including SG and never ever experienced something even remotely close to this.


I can believe it. I've had a doctor say something similar. At SG they didn't say "trust me" but they avoided answering difficult questions. They have plenty of patients and don't really need the difficult ones.

No. I switched locations for convenience and to get a second opinion and it was no problem (went from k street to sibley.). I was not mid-treatment though. Why is your nurse in another state? You mean va vs md? You are be able to go to monitoring appts anywhere, that's part of the convenience. I did that a few times. SG is known for results and convenience, but not a lot of hand-holding or customization. If that is what you prefer it's probably not a good fit.

I had luck with Shady Grove, but their overall management is horrendous. They used a fairly standard antagonist protocol for me. I'm not angry at them, not happy with them. I just would not, in good conscious, recommend anyone go there.

Shady Grove was the BEST decision I ever made! I was diagnosed with "below average" diminished ovarian reserve. I was able to produce a small amount of eggs with the right supervision controlling my medication. Out of those few eggs I as lucky enough to have 2 that made it to a 5 day blastocyst! I am now pregnant with one of those embryos : )

I had 100% trust in my doctor, nurse, the lab, and the doctor who did the transfer.

Shady Grove was the best decision I made because I have a happy baby girl now thanks to them. It all depends on whether you are successful or not. That being said, their check in person at monitoring and the financial counsellors could use some professional development on manners.

I've been exclusively to the Annandale office for monitoring for 2 IVF cycles. Sometimes there's more people than other times but I'm generally out within 30 minutes. Usually they draw my blood on time or early; it's the ultrasound that takes longer.
