If Nic Bell does come to Bullis, then I would certainly add the Bulldogs to this list as it will mean Bullis is not backing down. Nic Bell won't leave STAB if Bullis doesn't give him at least 1 -2 admissions slots a year.
+1 Agree no other names being thrown around here for the Bullis position will have the impact that Nic Bell will. Unlike the other names in the mix, Nic Bell has name recognition far beyond the immediate DMV. He has a proven track record for building successful programs and will attract new talent to Bullis. I think their program will stay strong even if they bring in local talent (simply maintaining the house that Bellistri has built), but I see it going to the next level under Bell.

With Hilgy now at Prep and his club connections nationwide, and GP's desire to fill the dorms, I do believe GP will be able to sustain a very high level of nationwide success. Prep graduated a ton of seniors this spring, but they will bring in some players via the transfer portal and stash them in the dorms.
I suspect you will see Landon and SJC field some very competitive teams every three seasons and then enter a "two-year" rebuilding phase of taking their lumps.

The GZ program is beginning to fall off. If the Eagles have a subpar season in 2027, you will see a reboot of its existing coaching staff.
It is "turning into a three-horse race" but sorry, Bullis beat Prep and Landon this season, and PVI beat SJC (twice). Bad take.

1. GP - IAC champs departed a complete senior class, but will fill the graduation departures with transfers and boarders. Despite the criticism on here, Hahn is a big loss for the Hoyas at attack, as teams had to scheme against him.
2. SJC - Cadets might have graduated a very strong senior class on paper, but their underclassmen are bought in and will make SJC a frontrunner in the WCAC.
3. Landon - Bears bring back all of their offensive pieces except one due to graduation. The Bears will have some holes on the defensive side of the ball, but historically, Landon has always had strong defenses.
4. Good Counsel -despite the graduation losses, the Falcons will remain strong next spring.
5. Bullis - depends on who the new coach is? if Nic Bell, they will bump up on this list!
6. PVI - Some big departures from a very strong graduating senior class, but the demise of the Panthers program is exaggerated.
7. STA - a very strong goalie and a strong FOGO, can take a team far.
8. Gonzaga - the pressure will be on King the Eagles' coaching staff to have better results. The Eagles were rather young this season, so on paper, the Eagles should be much better next spring.
9. Episcopal - Mad Lax founder will do anything to build this team up and bring in players via the transfer portal. EHS should be better next year.
10. The Heights - will 2027 be the year the Cav's make the WCAC semi-finals?
All in all, I think the WCAC will be down in the spring of 2027, and the IAC should be stronger.

Bell has a good thing going at STAB. Small, quiet town, nice school for his kids, and a relatively easy path to a state championship every year as long as he can keep 3*'s coming in. I'd be surprised if he left that for Bullis, but you never know. It's no secret that at least a few local parents don't love him and what he's doing with the program there.
It would also put him in the middle of the IAC, and potentially beating up on EHS - where his Madlax cohort's son goes. That's probably not high on his list of concerns though.
A VISAA State Championship is nice but there is little competition in the state other than PVI, Blue Ridge and Episcopal and St Chris from Richmond.
I do agree with you that Bell has a very good gig at STAB and he only been there for 3 seasons so it would be odd to leave so soon. STAB offers boarding while Bullis does not.
Not for nothing, while you're correct that VISAA is pretty thin in terms of competition, so are the IAC and WCAC. The championship was between two teams that were better than anything in the DMV this year, and STAB was at least very competitive if not better than anything in Maryland. As someone else noted, they board and he clearly can recruit, so doubtful there's a big drop off for the foreseeable future. A few parents upset that their kids aren't playing won't alter that, especially if those recruits go on to high academic programs, which every school administrator likes to use to puff their profiles to prospective students and their full pay parents, and the donors.
I think there will be a slight drop off next year. They lose some key players to graduation, have a small 27 class and will be leaning heavy on their 28 and 29 classes. I don’t think they will be able to keep up with Prep and SJC next year, but should still be the front runner for a VISAA title.
What makes you think SJC will be better next year? They graduated a ton and a few kids are transferring out. I'm sure Wes has brought in a few transfers as well but SJC hasn't won a ship in 4 seasons now.
They aren't in the same league as GP these days.
