My view as a persuaded Christian:

1. This is incredibly hard to read/see and it disgusts me.

2. If the smashing of a replica of Jesus makes your blood boil, imagine how serious the physical torture and murder of the real Jesus—God incarnate—is.

3. This is a sin, but it’s not as though only the IDF had sinned. As one might put it, “There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God[.]” (Romans 3:22-23)

4. The wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23), and Jesus took our place on the Cross because He loves us.

5. If the smashing of the statute upsets you—and it should—use it not as an opportunity to heap scorn on the wrongdoers, but, rather, allow it to remind you that we have a Good Shepherd Who lays down His life for the flock.
