The new map puts your congressman from anywhere from Arlington and Alexandria to nearly Virginia Beach and advocating for that entire 'strip' of constituents, or from Arlington to nearly Winchester on the Northern end. In my eyes all gerrymandering with their crazy lines is bad, because it tears apart the counties and regions with their crazy lines. Yes, the Republicans started it in other States, but I've never looked at those before or after maps. This time it is about my state, my region, my county. For constituency, this is bad. The wishes and needs of Alexandria are not the wishes and needs of the Tidewater area. And with time, you will see this backfire. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Both parties are now playing stupid games and soon it won't matter who started it.
I agree. N Arlington is not Culpeper or farther out. It is bad electing a new Member who represents that skinny district. We would be disenfranchised, including Arlington residents who are immigrants.
I voted NO and mailed it in.
