Yup. They went out this morning.

Our friends DD hasn't been available for their previous IDs, and they are wondering if they should even attend.
Of coarse attend, but TBH that is a very in demand team and tryouts for both 1st and 2nd teams were packed. Lots of older players moving down, lots of outside players with offers already. Only the coaches know if they need more kids or not. But the signs from tryouts and chatter is they are filled up. Most likely, the last slots to get filled for bubble players from the last tryout next week.
Also, unless she is coming from a big club/ 1st team, they probably won't even look at her for the 1st team scrimmage. We know kids coming from ECNL RL clubs and those girls were just sent to the 2nd team scrimmage for evaluation only.
Wish her good luck, it's possible but it's a challenging tryout.

It doesnât hurt to go. Also, they are the one team that probably has more spots to fill.

It makes kind of sense for HS aged kids since they are moving into HS soccer in VA, but the younger players have a full spring season.
Arlington always looks for size and no technic. Probably they believe they can fix the technic. No wonder why their older teams eventually lag. You canât fix technic because no club in this area fixes anything LOL.
Lots of churches offer free English lesson programs in the evenings. They don't discriminate between native speakers and ESL. You may want to check it out as you seem to be an advocate of "fixing" things and self improvement.
Jesus Christ, children. Settle down. The maturity level on this forum is subterranean.

Which one of the 200 rescheduled, repurposed, and/or similarly and vaguely named tryouts or ID sessions counts as the âfirst pre-ECNL tryoutâ? đ¤Ł
We are a long time Arlington family and I'm am highly annoyed at how they have been handling ecnl and rl with the age group change. They started out strong but are failing now.
Genuinely curious, what are they doing wrong? It seems like all the moving tryouts are a function of weather, but maybe we are not noticing something.
You don't notice internal players.
Right now it seems like anyone who is moving down has been forgotten about. There has been poor communication, unanswered emails, and general confusion.
Define moving down? Arlington coaches would love to know
I mean the kids in the last three months of the calendar year.
How so? In my kidâs age group there was at least one Arlington player who is repeating their current age group. I think they are already on the ECNL team for their current age group though. Are you saying they arenât communicating clearly to kids who currently play RL and could possibly make ECNL for the age group that they will be repeating next year? Is is possible the coaches donât actually feel that way and this havenât invited your DC to try out for ECNL?
Correct. This year all RL are invited to ID. It's not just an issue for my kid, it's an issue for all the kids. We all talk. They are not doing a good job of communicating the different events for the older kids and younger kids on one team (where the cutoff divides them). Everyone is confused. Coupled with Arlington's constant urge to bring players from the outside and push them down a year later when they realize they suck, it's all too much.
