Do you expect students to not celebrate their acceptances just because yours is still waiting? Deal with it! Signed, parent of student deferred at first choice.
Our HS doesn’t start the Instagram webpage until April 1st. It’s much healthier. Kids can tell their friends or whatever- but the school page doesn’t go up early.

She also says that some of these semi-finalist decisions guarantee admission to those extremely selective schools. She is in for a few great EAs. All good here and I would like her to stop talking about colleges.
Let us know how this works out!
Will do. DD had her first-round interviews and now she’s just waiting to hear whether she’s moving on to the next round. I can’t help but wonder if some of these “merit-based” scholarships quietly take financial need into account, even though they say they don’t. We definitely don’t qualify for need-based aid at all.
I have to say, I’m really looking forward to being done with all this college talk.

If the more they think of it your kid is actually really excited about one of those EA acceptances, do you let the whole process play out or just put down the deposit, buy the sweatshirt and call it a day? Or are you so close you might as well wait?
