I’m old. And yet I don’t understand how a pad is any more “gross” than removing and emptying a cup of bloody uterine lining. isn’t that just as messy? I think both are kinda gross. Tampon for the win. At least it absorbs while inside.
Oh gosh a pad is so much more gross than a cup, I’ve used both.
Once you are adept with the cup you only touch it to get it in and out. You can “empty it” hands free every time you go to the bathroom. I’ve never used a tampon so I can’t compare but the cup made my period so much less gross.
+1 I hate how pads and tampons mean you are throwing smelly blood cotton/whatever material in the trash (or hurting your plumbing by flushing it). I am fine with a little blood touching my hands. It washes off. The pads and tampons stink up the bathroom.
"The pads and tampons stink up the bathroom"
No they don't. Are you changing them enough? If so they won't stick. Also take your trash out gross.
I don't use them anymore, thank God. Glad the smell doesn't bother you!
There is no smell.
You might want to get that checked out!
I don't know why you are arguing with me about something that is easily googleable. Is everything okay with you?
NP google what? My pads do not stink neither does my tampons. I change them often and empty my bathroom trash every 5 days or so there is no smell and my bathroom trash doesn't have a lid. No smell. Girl go get checked.
Why do you think they make scented pads??
For the same reason they have bright color wrappers and patterns on the boxes. Hint: its not for smell.

I can’t stand pads. I tried cups and period underwear but didn’t love them. Old fashioned ob tampons for me.
OB tampons have never made sense to me. Why would you want to get blood on your fingers just to insert?
What? Never got blood on my hands using OB, and always wash my hands after using the restroom anyway
Your finger is the applicator no thanks.
DP, but also used to be a big fan of OB and also never got blood on my finger. When you pull the old one out, it kind of cleans the lower area and when you push the new one in same thing, it's not like it's just oozing blood all over the place. Even if somehow, things were really heavy or some mishap happened and you got a tiny bit of blood on your finger just wipe it off with some toilet paper, don't touch anything and go wash your hands at the sink.

Not the pp, but also thinking you may want to go to a doctor if your pads and/or tampons are creating a bad smell. Mine sit in my garbage for a week and there's no smell. When my daughter first started getting her period, sometimes her garbage started to smell, and so it had to be changed a bit more often. I don't think that it's common that you are having a smell. What's your health & diet like? Do you drink lots of water?
+1 This is not normal. Maybe PP has BV or some other infection.
