You're not an American. You're a traitor and a fascist. Go to Russia.
I second this. Fascist sympathizers and hateful f***s get out. You aren’t native anyway.
So my family, one side of which has been here since the late 1600’s, and the other side, which has been here since the Clovis Period, isn’t “native” , but a guy who sneaked here 4 years ago from El Salvador is a “Maryland man”.
Do you understand how stupid you sound to regular people?
So your family invaded and murdered the occupants of this country first. Got it.

My family was here in 1600s too. i have no problem with that el Salvadoran man if he’s not trying to terrorize the populace like ICE. Your family came for a. Better life and so did mine. And heads up our families “sneaked” in too. There were no laws back then, cowboy. This is a country of immigrants. Deal with it.
If you go far back enough every country except countries in Africa is a country of immigrants. I don’t see your point.
I can see the frustration of many people who have had their relatives die in almost every war since the 1700s complain when their wages are undercut by migrants, their school system is overcrowded, affordability has plummeted, and they wait for hours in an emergency room because of people who have come here illegally. Being mildly annoyed would seem a natural reaction, no?
Nah. They’ll just call them a racist. Or a fascist. Or a fascist racist. Or maybe a racist fascist.
Something like that.
Did you get your little racist feelings hurt?
Guess what, when your "mild annoyance" at an emergency room wait is directed at the brown person waiting next to you, then yes you are a racist. Your mild annoyance should be at the healthcare system, and the fact that it's not provided by your government.
1) my skin is almost as brown as the brown person sitting next to me in the ER. And if that fellow brown person didn’t come here legally, then they need to be sent home.
2) it’s not the government’s responsibility to provide healthcare for me. Or you. Or anyone. Show me in any of the Articles of our Constitution where it’s the government’s job to provide healthcare. If you can make a case for it, I’ll listen. But I’ve the entire Constitution, and I don’t see it. But if you can cite something, I’m open to hearing it.
A lot of people that are being detained as illegal, are NOT here illegally. It is legal, according to US law, to apply for asylum at the border. Case in point, 5 year Liam Ramos who was detained with his dad, even though they had entered the US at a port of entry and had an active asylum case. So they were not "illegal". Nevertheless, a five year old boy who was in the country legally is rotting away in a detention facility in Texas.
You can disagree with the asylum law. There's a thing called Congress and they can pass new immigration laws. They should try it some time.
Many people agree that some people are inappropriately swept up. Many also agree that some people are here illegally. The issue is that many people were hearing from see only one of the other as an issue.
But how was Liam swept up? How hard is it to verify that he is here legally? They couldn't verify his status before they sent him all the way across the country to Texas? He was released because he is 5 and they had a photo of him when he was swept up so his case got a lot of publicity. How many other similar cases are there who are still in detention?
I don't think this crackdown is meant to sweep up the illegal immigrants. Because that could be done humanely, legally, and without all these gross violations of our constitution.
Also, these facilities are really awful. We should not be keeping people in such horrible conditions. Please look into the conditions at the facility in Baltimore for an example.
Too bad there are a significant number of people who say correcting what you point out is not enough. That is how extreme the landscape is / quickly becoming. For many there is no in-between (rational) solution like you’re suggesting.
There are always people in the extremes of either side. What is different here is that the government is taking a very extreme approach and then pointing to tj extremists on the other end to justify it — ignoring the vast numbers of mostly reasonable people in th middle who favor humane and fair enforcement of immigration laws. This is like “well there are some crazy people in the other side who want anarchy so in response we will go full fascist and ignore everyone’s rights”. It all makes no sense, unless your goal is to drive our country into the trash (which is probably Putin’s goal and maybe china’s, so a big win for both of them).
