A lot of people respected him - it seems like forever ago that the Senate confirmed him unanimously.

They have told me that there has been significant chatter amongst the Republican caucus about pushing Vance and Rubio to declare Trump unfortunately to serve via the 25th Amendment due to his rapid decline as well as health problems that they said could lead the President to be incapacitated - or worse within the next 2 to 4 months.
They also told me that Impeachment and removal has been talked about BUT they are a bit short from reaching that goal to remove in the Senate.
I believe you but it will never happen. If you recall, at the end of his first term there was talk of the 25th amendment. Some of his cabinet members at the time spoke to each other about it. Did it happen? No. The GOP is too cowardly, and lives in fear of death threats from the base. MJT resigned from Congress when her college kid received death threats and Trump just told her it was her fault for criticizing him.
