I don't understand the need for moms to be "hot", in a public way, especially while performing basic parenting functions.

I'm a mom and I'm in good shape and am attractive but it is never my goal to look "hot" when at my kid's school. I'm usually going for some combo of approachable and competent, which I thin I achieve. And this is more for kids and teachers/administrators, as I want my kid's friends to like me enough to be cool during carpools or playdates, and I want a good relationship with the school. I don't think too hard about what other parents think of me but it has never occurred to me to want them to think I'm hot, and if anything I downplay my sexuality in kid-focused, school-centric settings.

So I'm baffled here. What even does this all mean?

It’s a midlife crisis.

Gigantic mall crawler SUVs are ugly and project “mom” ergo old, menopause, unsexy, boring. These women seek something a little smaller, stylish, and sportier in an attempt to project a fun, younger, fertile, and stylish image. And middle aged men like Jeeps, Rivians, Broncos, and pickup trucks because they believe it puts out a fun, sporty, outdoorsy, masculine and vitality vibe.

Thank you, that's helpful.

2026 Porsche Cayenne base is $88,800. And you’ll never see anyone driving a totally base spec. Every new Porsche on a dealer lot has tons of options.

I dont think people who drive BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche SUVS often understand how expensive those vehicles are.

Porsche Macan starting around $57,000 and Porsche Cayenne starting $67,000 are a lot less in price…

Nobody pays MSRP for any General Motors car. Go to any hick town and you’ll see middle class proles driving new Tahoes and Yukons. Porsche Cayennes can be optioned up to over $200,000. Median Cayenne buyer is exponentially wealthier than a median Yukon buyer. Nobody in a hick town can buy a new Cayenne.
