I stated that Biden needed to get a handle on the border issue as soon as he got elected.
Whoever was advising him on this didn't know how to read the room. I understand Progressives want to protect the most vulnerable, but that is not what is going keep you in power.
I sincerely hope that Dems have learned their lesson and do better in 2026 and beyond. Don't cater to progressives on immigration. That's a losing strategy. Focus on the economy and jobs, not foreigners.
Irrational Dems are not smart enough to not push for open borders. It’s their obsession. And a losing issue.

I also was disgusted for three years as my elected leaders and their minions lied to me repeatedly regarding their ability to control our national borders. And they in fact worked against the majority opinion of Americans that uninvited people should largely not be released into the country, where they, as foreigners, have no right to be.
So I voted for Trump to stop the lies and disrespect for American citizens, and guess what, he showed, despite all his faults, that our government was not powerless, and it could do something about the problem. I'm sorry it came to that, but maybe listen to the American people next time.
I can’t even fathom what you tried to say.

He’s saying Joe INTENTIONALLY allowed millions of illegals in. Then in Trump’s second term he PROVED the border could be controlled.
So say what you want about the orange guy, he manages to get the job done.

But a New York Times examination of Mr. Biden’s record found that he and his closest advisers repeatedly rebuffed recommendations that could have addressed the border crisis faster, and eased what became a potent issue for Mr. Trump as he sought to return to the White House and justify the aggressive tactics roiling American cities today.
Former Biden administration officials told The Times that Mr. Biden and his circle of close confidants — including Ron Klain, who was chief of staff during the president’s first two years, Mike Donilon, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Anita Dunn — made two crucial errors.
First, they underestimated the scale of migration that was coming. Second, they failed to appreciate the political reaction to that migration — believing that stronger enforcement would alienate Latino and progressive voters, and also that a border surge would not be an important issue to most voters. Those calculations would later prove to be mistaken, with many voters, including Latinos, citing immigration as a reason for supporting Mr. Trump in 2024.
This is the crux of the issue. They cared more about re-election, party power, than what is right by the American people.
Two wrongs still don't make a right. All of the political momentum Biden gifted the GOP has quickly been pissed away by Trump's careless immigration crackdown.
disagree
many many swing voters are happy with the immigration crackdown.
mayorkas and Biden screwed the US voters. now we have Trump and his chaos.
False. We have Trump because too many fvking idiots thought that Trump would lower the price on eggs.
DP. I don’t think about immigration at all. It has no effect on my vote.
I voted for Trump because of the border crisis. Polls show that it was the second most important issue, after the economy, for Trump voters.
I disagree that immigration doesn’t affect our lives. It affects everything - from housing costs, auto insurance costs, health care cost, traffic congestion, issues with ESL at schools, etc. I am one of the millions of Americans who is upset with the out of control immigration a thinks it is having a very negative effect on our country.
Thanks for your refreshing honesty--assuming you're for real. I would love to know, if I may ask: besides how Trump has addressed your concern about immigration, how do you feel about everything else he has said and done? And, do you feel that, in the end, it's all justified as long as he continues his campaign to rid the country of all migrants who are not here legally?
most of what Trump has done is awful. He is awful.
but he stopped DEI and he fixed the border.
why cant Democrats focus on helping US citizens?

• The Dream Act of 2025
• The HIRES Act
• Expanded H-1B pipelines
• Citizenship pathways tied to temporary labor
All while we’re told there is a “tech worker shortage.”
Yet Americans see something very different:
• Mass layoffs
• Hiring freezes
• Jobs reposted as contract roles
• Replacement through outsourcing firms
• Wages flat for a decade
And social media floods the feed insisting none of this is real.
That’s not persuasion.
That’s gaslighting.
When Congress tells voters their lived experience is wrong, skepticism isn’t extremism.
It’s pattern recognition.
We have seen this movie before.
This season, Americans should watch their representatives closely and confront them when the narrative breaks from reality.
It has been nearly a century since Congress last passed a major labor law that clearly favored American workers over foreign labor pipelines. Today, we see lawmakers appearing at ITServe Alliance events, an organization whose stated mission advances large-scale outsourcing. Those appearances are not accidental, and they do not happen without political incentives attached.
Americans are paying attention now.
