Legit wondering what people are expecting clubs to be announcing? They’re gonna follow the applicable Age groups for their league and make individual decisions on letting impacted kids (ie those who would be repeating age groups under new system) play up. Same as now right?
Waiting to hear how they will structure u8-u12 which will play in a SY league but will become BY at u13.
They will say all sort of nice things about how these changes will benefit your kid.
Aren’t all u9-u12 leagues governed by USYS which said they will go SY? I think these age groups are stuck with SY based teams no matter what
Some MLSN clubs in socal have already said they are keeping BY at the feeder ages. They will play in a SY league but just play up. Too difficult to change halfway through.
What a mess. So we will have all the MLSN ulittle teams playing up a year in NCSL while the ECNL ulittles will stay SY and play their own age. When did soccer become such a shitstorm.

He's a starter on his u16 AD team now, playing 75% of the game, there's no universe in which dropping a year is good for his development or would prepare him to make the Homegrown team.
What the impact of that will be we'll see. I let him know last night and we'll wait for comms from the club and do MLS Fest. There is an ECNL club in town.
Wouldn't he have to make that same shift of "dropping a year down" if he went ECNL?? Or are you saying because ECNL is a lesser league, he can go there and play up at the age you want him to play at?
Fact: My kid has been on both MLS1 and ECNL team. Checking with HUDL Analytics. His statistics are top in the MLS1 team, but bottom in this ECNL team. Only our RL players who can not make the NL team, join the local MLS1 team.
